Iām not. My diode laser do not bring caps itās lens.

I wasnāt embarrassed by the lens, but I was embarrassed because I only realized after several attempts that I was forgetting to turn on a power switch that disconnects the power to the laser head that I installed myself. (It only serves to cut off the laserās power while itās in standby mode.)

We mostly ended up adding dangly things to our lense caps to make them more noticable.
We got fabric āRemove Before Laseringā tags made, but a tassel would work just as well!
Make sure you clean the bottom of the lens. When I burnt mine it put a nice film on it.
When I got my first galvo (a MOPA fiber), I made sure to test that everything was working properly once I got it set up. Then I opened it up and added state lights and a door interlock. Buttoned everything up again, and although it looked perfectly fine in software and I could hear the mirrors all a-wobble, the red-dot framing laser was apparently not working and nothing I could do had any effect. Finally, in frustration, I just tried running a little test job to see whether the fiber laser part of the system was working. It wasā¦
And thatās the story behind my holy lens cap.
Just burned my lens cap today as well. I have so many stories about forgetting something obvious, but the other laser related one was when I had to contact tech support to troubleshoot my laser and thatās how I learned the chip tray has shutoff switches in it, and I just needed to push it in slightly harder.
