a) are you sure your machine is being identified by the OS
b) are you selecting the correct COM port?
c) right click windows menu → device manager
Expand ports section , plug machine and power on
take screenshot and post here please
With this machine, I don’t know if it is a grbl based machine, but I doubt it.
I don’t know if Lightburn will be able to drive it.
I saw no indication here as to what control board it has or the software it’s capable of running. From the look and that it cuts metal, I kind of doubt it’s a grbl machine.
Can you look in the electronics bay and tell us (or show us) what controller is present.
you are probably right here. my head defaults grbl i should triple check!
But in fairness, profile shows GRBL controller so i done 1+1=7 in my mind hahah
Agreed, it’s always possible, but I doubt it.
The normal grbl can’t really control most fiber sources. The power input control for most of the sources I’ve seen is an 8 bit word… Not pwm, so I doubt it’s grbl. But I’m willing to be educated.
Many people are new at this and don’t know what to enter for some of these questions for their profile… So it’s understandable they get confused or mislead.
I think the cost and type of this machine is more than likely a proprietary software… at bare minimum it’s built in and appears to be Chinese.
We’ll have to see what controller is in the box…
Looks like a 6445g and Lightburn should connect.
Are you using usb or Ethernet?
Did you have any trouble setting up the device type when you created the profile for that machine?
Is this a trail version of Lightburn?
Let it be between us, I’m a plumber, not a CNC operator.
Great… I’d suggest using Ethernet if possible. A lot less trouble and no drivers to worry about.
Thank you for the help.
If you post in a relevant category, such as Ruida, the you can mark the thread that fixed it with solved.
The community laser talk doesn’t have that ability.
Have fun, take care.
