Acmer M4 Works in setup and test, goes nuts in use

I have just set up the Acmer M4 in Lightburn. When I use the test button the object rotates and returns to the marked line, all at a normal speed.

When I set up a test square and try to frame it, the laser head flies off to the extreme right and the rollers spin like they are trying to take off.

I can post settings here but before I post a load of irrelevant stuff maybe someone could suggest areas I might check.

Thanks in advance.

Without having any experience with the “rotary” system, I think a print screen of the “Laser” and “Cuts/Layers” windows would be useful to start with.

This error in the Console window:

Alarm:9
Homing fail. Could not find limit switch within search distance. Defined as 1.5 * max_travel on search and 5 * pulloff on locate phases.

So looks like a homing issue, perhaps specific to my machine, a TTS20.

I’ll have to delve into the manual a bit more.

I’ll put those up later if sorting out homing doesn’t solve it.

Thanks.

You cannot home with a rotary attached. The rotary doesn’t have limit switches.

Thank everyone.

Found a similar issue with an Ortur when I searched the error message.

Turned off home at startup, all good.

Odd that three different ‘how to setup your rotary in Lightburn’ YouTube vids don’t mention that.
