Acrylic cutting

what is the best cutting settings for a 3mm acrylic board using algo laser delta 22w

No general settings available. Do a material test and check out for your laser/material combination.

Diode lasers, will not be able to cut translucent acrylic. Anything that you can see through, as a rule of thumb, cannot be cut with lasers in the visible light spectrum.
Normal blue diodes are 445nm, therefore unable to cut

You can cut black solid acrylics, and any colors darker than blue. But as you are having trouble i am assuming you are trying a transparent type

I don’t have a diode laser but I am curious, Can you cut clear or translucent acrylic if you use transfer tape?

You cannot, the moment the laser goes through the tape. is clear again
you need Co2 for clear acrylics. is a matter of wavelenght and physics more than anything really.
In the 10600nm range

Thanks for the reply. I have a CO2 laser and have considered getting a diode laser to run single engraving jobs like trophy plaques. Unfortunately many (too many) are on clear acrylic so it’s not really practical for me.

You could get a IR diode laser for the machine but then you would be better off just getting a fiber or similar.

Each machine has its pros and cons of course, but if your main goal is Acrylics (and specially clear ones) Diodes will not improve your work flow that much

I have considered getting a fiber laser because it would let me engrave stainless and brass.
