OK, after some additional research I found that the same author has a nice web based visual solution called plotter-vision.
- Just grab the zip file from https://github.com/osresearch/plotter-vision and extract it to your disk. Then double click on index.html
OR
- Go to https://plotter.vision/ for a web based solution
Load an STL (binary or ASCII) and rotate. The hidden line removal will take place on mouse up. For best results on a laser use a low-poly STL. A tool like MeshLab https://www.meshlab.net/ can do it.
