Add a camera to the Xtool S1

I received my S1 a few weeks ago, and love it, especially after coming from a homemade laser setup. The one thing I missed was having a camera, and using Lightburn. I missed being able to sit by my computer, and move the laser, see what I’m doing, controlling the laser by really using the camera. Updating the overlay, etc. I tried many cameras, different placements, and found the right camera. I had to then design a mount, a cover plate and a bottom plate. After testing the camera location, I mounted it, and it works. Now I had to modify some start and end gcode, create a few more macros to control the lid detection and off. I modified the gcode that enables lid detection before engraving, just in case I forget to close the lid, and made a few other tweaks. Someone, on another site asked If I was going to put together a kit so that they can follow along with steps, get the camera, 3d printed parts, Lightburn profiles, Lightburn tuning sheet and the 3d printer parts. I want to know if there is a demand for such a product, as I would bundle everything, and create the instructions, with only a few simple tools needed by you to do the installation.

Take orders. If you get any, THEN make the kits.

In my opinion, your situation was very specific. I am not sure how much market there would be. I think if you could sell a hundred or so, it would be worth the effort. Just remember, saying I want and I will pay are two different things.

Here are a few images of the camera, excuse the glares and tool shadows. Lots in my workshop. I’m looking for color options for the Cam cases (White, Grey, Green, Black) and can use cable tie downs instead of the tracks. Just created this email, as my personal email is getting too many emails. rldesign.innovations@gmail.com. If interested, ping my email, I’m tryong to gauge the demand, if any. Works flawlessly!

installed, and a pic of camera alignment.
