Hi
Has anyone mounted a camera on their Creality CR-10 laser to ease position of material in Lightburn ? Could a simple webcam do the trick ?
Hi Jan, welcome to the Forum.
Generally speaking, it is possible that most cameras can be used in LightBurn, but practice looks a little different. If you do not have a relatively high resolution and if the angle of your lens cannot cover your working area, then the result will not be good/unusable.
For example, I currently have a 4 mp 85 gr. original LB camera to cover 400x600 mm from approx. 500 mm height. The result is usable but the picture is not particularly sharp.
In short, go for the right lens angle (which depends on the working area and mounting height) and the highest possible resolution, 6 to 8 mp will be fine.
It is extremely important that the camera mount is very static/stable, the camera must not be able to move at all after it has been set correctly.
