Hi, all. I’ve been digging here any I can’t seem to find anything that would help me, maybe I’m just SOL with what I have at the moment. I have a Kasu Laser with Cannon Camera and I’m trying to connect that camera to Lightburn. Everything I read makes this sound somewhat reasonable to do, I’m just not sure I am able to do it as the Laser is built into the machine itself. If anyone has any ideas, it is much appreciated!
Is this a standard standalone Canon SLR?
If so, you may be able to configure it as a webcam and use that in LightBurn using software provided by Canon:
EOS Webcam Utility Pro | Canon U.S.A., Inc.
Note that if the camera is tightly integrated with the laser and its proprietary software for very specific functionality like auto alignment that you won’t get that full functionality in LightBurn. Camera use in LightBurn is really limited to capture overlay for general material placement and tracing of captured images.
I believe it is a standalone camera. It uses the Kasu Vision program to detect lines for cutting fabric. However you can import files to cut/laser which is why I think I should still be able to add it to Lightburn. I will check out the link you provided as see what happens. Thanks!
Cutting wouldn’t be dependent on camera function but the automatic registration process would which won’t be available in LightBurn. In any case, worth exploring what capabilities the camera can get you.
Let us know how it works out.
