Hi, Very new user of lasers and LightBurn. I am on an iMac running Mojave and have the LightBurn 1.1.03 installed. I have been trying to place text within an outer and inner offset circle for an ornament. I have tried using the blue dot that bends the text and it works, but not that well. The ends of my text do not hug the top of the inner circle, it needs to have a tighter radius at the ends. I have also tried using apply text to path but it always is upside down and at the 9:00 position on the circle. I need it to be rightside up in the 12:00 position. I have tried selecting it from left to right, from right to left and just clicking on it, but it appears the way I have been doing it, the origin of my selection does not change the outcome. Just need a little step-by-step guidance here.
Select the circle that the text is attached to and rotate it 45 degrees clockwise. If the text is upside down then use Arrange->Flip Horizontal on the selected object.
berainlb, Thank you for your response. Tried your advice, and I did get the text rightside up and in the 12:00 position. However, when I rotated the text, the outer and inner circle uniform spacing was like a cam and did not maintain the uniform spacing.
Seems simple enough if I start from scratch, but I have some time into this design and want to use this to continue. I changed the inner circle cut line to the T2 layer and I select the inner circle, text and apply text to path but it is greyed out. I do have a horizontal bar splitting the inner circle in half, if that makes a difference. There is just something simple I am missing here, grouped, non-grouped, locked etc. that I am doing wrong.
The suggestion of having all caps is good, did not think of that. However, I cannot get the text on a path because it is greyed out. So to get going, I need to know how to get around that.
I was right-clicking to get to text to path, was not working. Tools > Apply text to path worked. Now I have to resize and all I see is 4 plus signs in each corner of the curved text. Seems like it does not want to resize in the regular way. Almost there though.
Did that but some of the extended letters are outside my outer circle on the top. I can make the font smaller, but I still need to drag it to the center.
