despite many hours of trials over one year, I have a “disconnected” status under the Laser heading on the right. I have USB cable running from a MacBook Pro running on OS 14.6.1 to an IKIER K1 ProMax. I have added three device configurations manually—GRBL, GRBL-M3 and Custom GCode—with cu.BLTH and cu.Bluetooth-Incoming-Port. When trying to print, I get an error message “problem sending data to the Laser….machine may be busy or paused". HELP!
I somehow got it to “Ready” status, probably by manually downloading a different device name GRBL (Without the suffixes LPC or M-3). But when trying to print my fist job, I still get error message “problem sending data to the Laser….machine may be busy or paused”. HELP!
I don’t know if this is relevant, but I initially has issues getting Lightburn to talk to my Ikier when I upgraded my MBP from an Intel (2015) to an M2 (2023) - I couldn’t use a direct USB-C cable. I had to use the cable that came with the engraver and try a few different adapters before I found a combo that reliable works.
I found and installed cable that might be the one from IKIER (I don’t know for sure since I have had this for a year and have many cables). It still gives me the same error messages but at least the USB shows up on my Mac’s USB list. Now hoow to get it working…?
Now that the device is showing up, push the Devices button in Laser window, then push “Find My Device”. Is your laser detected?
If not, push the Port field located between the Devices button and your Device list. Is the USB port listed there? Can you take a full screenshot of LightBurn with that field pulled down?
Thank you for that! I had previosuly downloaded 4 devices manually, so following your idea, I deleted them and then did a search. It added my device with the proper options under “Choose” which then became (Auto). I clicked on one of them—cu.chusbserialxxxx— and then tried to print a simple rectangle and it worked! Now after a year, I can finally get some art done! THANK YOU BOTH SO MUCH !!
