I just got a longer 10w laser engraver a month ago. I have air assis and a cover with exhaust fan.
I am wondering if there is away in lightburn that i can have the air assist button that is in lightburn to turn the air assist on and off without flipping the on/off switch for the air assist ???
I am also wondering if i can do this same thing with the exhaust can to turn on when the laser starts doing work ???
Anyone have any youtube videos or pictures on what or how they did this would be awesome. Thanks
It depends on whether your laser controller has the necessary input/output to control external devices. LightBurn cannot directly control a relay, but can give the “order” to an external controller that is connected to the necessary hardware to control a relay.
I think Longer ray5 10w has a MKS DLC32 controller if is this correct, yes you can turn on and off air assist thru Lightburn but you probably need an external relay (MOSFET if I’m not wrong). But it’s possible because my air assist is controlled thru Lightburn.
The exhaust system I recommend you use a dedicated switch to turn on and off when needed and not only when laser is working.
