Air assist not turning on, ikier k1 pro

Hello
I just ordered ikier k1 pro 24w, assambled everything just like manual said, but air assist is not turning on. Tested with multimeter and there is no DC comming out from power supply socket that comes out from laser. Air assist unit itself is working, tried different power supply. Could the problem be in laser board, original cable or lightburn app?
I’m using latest lightburn version on Windows 10 laptop.

The air assist is only turned on when needed, usually. Did you try sending M8 via the console if it turns on then? You can also test M7. M9 will turn it off.

Yes, I tried M8. Still wasn’t turning on, tomorrow will try M7 and M9, thank you for tips!

That didn’t work as well…

Please don’t be mad, but how do you know the compressor isn’t running? It doesn’t make much noise, which I like. If you pick it up, you’ll only feel a slight vibration…
There’s a rotary switch on the compressor itself, which needs to be turned all the way clockwise.

But I think you’ve already checked all that
You could also try the following: save the GCode (you’ll find the button for this in the Laser menu) and then view the file with any editor. This will clarify whether Lightburn is sending the code to turn on the compressor.

Here’s an example of what my GCode looks like:

LightBurn Core 2.0.00-RC-5 @ 3560d02 Qt6.5.7
; GRBL device profile, absolute coords
; Bounds: X148.62 Y8.55 to X193.24 Y140.87
G00 G17 G40 G21 G54
G90
M4
; Cut @ 325 mm/min, 80% power
M8
G0

Mad? I’m thankful that you spend time to try help solve my problem.
How I know it is not running? I noticed that it is not running, detached air hose from laser and no air was coming out. Unit was turned on and laser was working when I checked. After that I plugged it to it’s own power supply (originally it plugs to laser) and it was working.
Will check the gcode, so I can know if the problem is in software or hardware. Thanks for tip! :+1:

It’s always a good idea to contact the vendor if you have any issues. You can also open a thread here, but the vendor is more likely to be able to advise you. They know how it work. They generally take 24 hours to return an email.

Already did it, but still waiting for answer.
Meanwhile was hoping that someone in this forum might have had the same problem and knows solution.

Sorry, I’ve been pretty busy with Easter celebrations… still busy finding all those eggs

Want to try something?

Send me a Lightburn file you’d like to burn, and I’ll take a look. Then I’ll send you the GCode, and you can burn it with a USB stick… It’s just a way to figure out if it’s Lightburn (specifically the device settings there) or your laser.

Hope you had a great easter holiday!
For test purpose made 2 test squares, one for cutting other for engraving, have turned on air assist for both of them.

sorry, i cannot detect any error …

If you have a spare piece of 3mm plywood, you can copy my file to a USB stick and burn it…
As much as I’d love to help you, I’m at a loss right now and hope someone else in this forum can answer your question.

Well, you have helped me to figure that everything with software and code is good and problem is in hardware. I’ve already started email bouncing with atomstack support. My guess is that they will try to send new power cord (cheapest option) and if that won’t work then the problem is in power socket on laser.

We didn’t get the right answer, but we did cross out some wrong ones! Mr Tilman, i’m grateful and thankful that you took your time to help me! :folded_hands:
