Air Assist toggle button?

Hello ya’ll. As ya’ll can see this is my first post. Please be patience as this is my very first experience with lasers.

I’ve seen the 6 pin I/O connector on the OLM3 and found docs saying there are pins there that turn OFF and ON with gcode cmds. LightBurn software has a selector button that toggles air assist ON 'n OFF. Does this toggle the pins on the I/O connector? If not, is there a way to have LB to auto turn ON air assist when the START button is pressed?

AND, does anyone know of a plug connector that will fit that 6 pin connector?

Thank ya’ll for any help and guidance.

Bonjour,

j’aimerais faire exactement cela. Sa veut dire que depuis Lightburn en démarrent le laser l’air assist démarre aussi si la coche est activer.
Alors un branchement d’une vanne ok, mais je le branche ou sur ma Ortur OLM3?

Merci de votre aide

Hello,

I would like to do exactly that. It means that from Lightburn when starting the laser the air assist also starts if the check mark is activated.
So a valve connection ok, but where do I connect it on my Ortur OLM3?

Thanks for your help

It’s been a long time since I found the answer to your question, and I “know” I wrote up a paper for my records but I can’t find it now. I even ordered the correct connectors and I can’t even find those connectors now. Look at page 2 of the Installation Manual where it shows the item #10 which is the “Input and Output Ports”. From an answer from Ortur Tech Support that I/O port does not work with the “toggle Air Assist” function in LightBurn. To use it would require inserting M12-M13 code at the “Start GCode” and at “End of GCode” in the Device Settings that should work to turn those pins ON and OFF each time. This would be to operate a SS relay to activate the air pump. These are the cables I ordered from www.aliexpress.com ( https://tinyurl.com/msxbphsh ) select the 2X3 pin connector to have the 6 pins.

I “finally” found the forum post that tells all about that connector. Thank you Ayrekuebd2000 for sharing the info: Ortur LM3 I/O Port - #2 by aureliend2000
