Help me pleas

ALARM:2
The G-code motion target exceeds the machine travel. Maintain the machine position safely. The alarm can be unlocked. (Right click on the “Devices” button to reset the connection).
On or near line 3:

I get this error does anyone know about this error?

That means you’re trying to send the laser beyond the boundaries of the laser.

Follow these steps and you should never get that message:

  1. Home your laser
  2. After homing, never move the laser head by hand, use the jogging controls exclusively
  3. Use Absolute Coords as the “Start from” mode in Laser window
  4. Don’t ignore any warnings from LightBurn

Once you’re familiar with the function of your laser and LightBurn you can start experimenting with the other “Start from” modes to understand how they work, when they’re useful, and what considerations need to be made to use them.

Thank you for your quick reply

I have already done all these things, but every time I press start this error comes up.
What else can I do? Does anyone have a solution?

Can you run these commands in Console and return the full output?

The NAN (not a number) values are very odd here and makes me think there’s a corruption in your firmware.

What’s the history of this laser? Have you attempted to flash the firmware as of recent?

The MPos values are also a bit strange.

Also, can you provide the following:

  1. full screenshot of LightBurn with the design loaded and ready to burn
  2. go to File->Save gcode, save the file with .txt extension and upload the file here.

Thank you very much for the quick answer, I got the problem when Lightburn did an update, from then on it didn’t work anymore, I didn’t do anything on the device…
If anyone can, I also have a teamviewer if anyone wants to look at it. I would be happy to upload the files.
gcode.txt (602 Bytes)
LightBurn_Crash_Log.txt (6,3 KB)

I can almost guarantee that the LightBurn update has nothing to do with the error. The issue is hardware related. Timing is likely a coincidence.

I don’t see a major problem in the screenshot or gcode that would cause the issue.

I suspect either the firmware on the controller has become corrupted or the controller itself has failed.

Can you try flashing the most current firmware available for your laser and then retesting?

Note that I do see one issue with the way your device is configured. Your device is configured as “GRBL-M3” device. It should really be a “GRBL” device. You can fix this by pushing the Devices button in Laser window, then editing your device. Choose “GRBL” and then finish the dialogue. This won’t be the cause of your primary issue, however.
