Alarm 3 error message stops engraving

This is a new one for me. Maybe someone knows what this means. I am using a business card jig that has my front and back info on them. This all worked just fine yesterday and every time prior. Today, the bottom left 2 slots are causing this alarm to happen. The other slots, which there are 2 columns and 3 rows, are working fine. I thought initially there was a problem with the file being engraved, so I deleted the 2 that were problems, using good ones from the right column. That did not fix the problem. It is happening on both side info files that are placed in the slots. The other 4 slots are fine. I even moved everything to a new place within the appropriate coordinates, and the same thing happened. Thanks in advance for any info you might have.

Here is the Alarm 3 info from the console:

It looks like the “Lis2dh” is a vibration sensor. If it is triggering at the bottom left, then it could be something about motion in that corner that is causing the problem.

I’m not familiar with those machines, but check your belt tensions, check the frame is rigid and securely screwed together, and the belt idler pulleys are secure.

If the vibration sensor is not the culprit, then these might apply.

This is normally caused by [1] power loss like a loose connection, [2] a weak or defective power supply that cannot deliver the needed curremt, or [3] you accidentally hit the E-Stop switch, which has to be manually released.

The e-switch was not activated. Why would this only happen on the 2 spots, and not the otehr 4? I redid the entire file, and it worked perfectly. This is very bizzare needless to say. Thanks for the reply

There was no motion or vibration that was happening unless there was a ghost helping. The machine was running without anyone or anything interferring. I redid the entire file, and it worked just fine. This is very bizzare. Everything is tight as far as the frame goes, and the belts are secure.

Thanks for the reply.

I created a new file in the jig and that seems to have solved this problem. I have no idea what the problem was that caused this. It will remain a mystery….I guess.

It is too easy to change something without meaning to, when you are on a roll.

Been there and done that too many times myself. :grimacing:
