Alarm 9 after Update - Atomstack A40Pro

I’m new to this forum - I didn’t find a fitting category for my problem and I hope it’s okay to just post here. First I’m sorry for any grammatical mistakes, English isn’t my first Language.

I used lightburn without major problems for a year and a half now. Today, out of nowhere I got the alarm 9.
If I turn my Atomstack A40Pro off and turn it back on it frames my project without a problem. After that I normally send him home and start. Now I can’t start oder frame after homing because of the Alarm 9. I already read many threads here about turning the automatic homing off. Didn’t help anything at all. Yesterday it worked without a problem with auto homing on…

But, I just installed the newest update. Could that be the issue?

Alarm 9 usually means homing failed
you must be certain by scroll up and make sure when you home all goes well

After trying a hundred times it worked 5min. Now I’m back with that issue. Are there my solutions?

To be certain we would need more information

a) a full copy/paste of the console contents (from the top) when error happens
b) screenshot of your lightburn main window showing layers and laser tab

So two different errors, that might or not be related
Alarm 9 is based on your homing cycle
I am assuming your machine is able to home and has homing switches

If you have alarm 9 errors, every other error after that might be a consequence of this error
So i would make sure you can home, consistently

Alarm 1 is a hard limit
This means your frame is touching the switches when engraving
Hard limits can be disabled, as long as your homing is correct

I suspect however they are related and your frame has some issues that you need to address

I would focus on making machine home consistently from any position in the frame

Yeah it has a switch right in the homing point in the left corner. The problem accurse every time I try to start framing or else from the home point. It moves a few centimeters and stops. It’s not passing the switch or hitting the frame while moving. So I’m still not sure what to do about that… I already checked the measurements, those are correct. I disabled the warning for driving out of the frame - it alarms even when that’s disabled. Finding and going home it definitely not the problem, going somewhere else from home is :frowning:

well your console output tends to disagree, As each homing gives you alarm 9
This is definitely an issue because even if the machine is NOT looking its homing incorrectly, firmware (the machine brains) thinks so

First and second video belong to each other - we filmed those with two phones so you could see what happens at the laser and in the pc. Same for video 3 (got uploaded as a short) and video 4.

Your Y belts need a bit of tightening, even more than that

I would also check your X,

But seems your firmware is modified

Image should be with this text, we tightened the belts but they were pretty steady already - at least it looked like this for us. I typed those things and pressed enter it said ok both times. Alarm 9 is still there but 1 seems to be away - for the moment.

Alarm 9 should not be there

I think others with more experience on atomstack might help, but definitely fixing Alarm 9 /homing is mandatory so all rest works fine.

Thank you very much! At least I can start projects again :joy: the homing error only occurs when I send the laser home. But it works normal. I even could do the spiral thing you sent. It’s crooked and not looking like it should :frowning:

It absolutely is.
You think this Desaster (picture) could disappear when the alarm 9 problem is solved?

Lets look at the picture toguether

Flat top and bottom on the circle
This means:
a) your Y belts are loose or still loose
b) your X is not square with the frame (move the gantry to the back and measure the distance between left and right sides to the frame)
c) your Y motor sproket/coupler (The part that moves the belts is loose)

Definitly something mechanical

Your X belt needs some tightening too but massivly issue on Y

uff, we already had many problems with the support. Needed spare parts because the laser was already in rough looking condition when it arrived. (Scratches over nearly every part, short circuit within the separate Air assist) I’ll try to contact them now and ask if they might help us. Thank you very very much for trying to help!
