Hi Everyone,
I’m having issues on my AlgoLaser DIY 10W Kit.
The X axis seems fine but y axis it is not moving.
i recently purchased it so I don’t know what to do.
Here is the error in the lightburn app:
Homing fail. Could not find limit switch within search distance. Defined as 1.5 * max_travel on search and 5 * pulloff on locate phases.
Appreciate if you could help me resolve my concern.
Make sure it can actually reach and actuate the switches (indicator light changes or listen for a audible click.
Make sure your GRBL parameters match the physical size of the machine.
You can be better helped if we know the make and model of your machine.
You can help by entering $$ in the Console window. Copy the output and paste it in a reply here.
I see you recently joined the forum. Welcome and prepare for a lot of fun and learning. I also noticed you read 7 minutes total. You will find, sometimes with difficulty, a ton of information including how-to’s, software operation, machine maaintenance, and other’s projects.
AlgoLaser DIY 10W is the make and model. I have the 5W model. It’s a typical 2020 framed, pinion drive machine. 24v, 32bit.
It sounds like the y motor isn’t moving at all, which could explain the alarm. Assuming it never worked, I’d check continuity from pin to pin on the wiring harness. The Phoenix connectors are nice but being spring clamp, they are susceptible to installation error. One terminal may be clamped over insulation or something.
@gilaraujo is the local Algo rep and I’m sure he knows the common failures.
@mightymarooms any chance you could do this for me
a) Unplug X cable from X motor, plug it to Y motor (Leave Y cable unplugged)
power on, does Y move?
If yes
b) reverse. Y on X motor, X cable unplugged
Power on. any motion?
