Alignment and cutting issues

Hi all, I am running into a very frustrating issue with multiple layers and alignments.
I have a 10W Vevor A7 and keep having the same issue. I am trying to create wheels for a project and have tried many different ways of creating the file.

The file looks perfect on screen, but the results are far from that. It seems that I isn’t even cutting the circles properly.
Can there be something wrong with the engraver?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Elli

Check everything on your machine. Belt tension, rollers, pulleys, all mechanical connections. Something is loose somewhere. Or your running your speeds way too fast.

Hi there. Thanks for the advice. I just tried tighten the belts and I doubt that is is running too fast as the cut speed is set to 100 mm/m at 90% with 2 passes on 3mm basswood.
After the tightening, I ran a quick test and it seemed to be circular. Trying the file again and keeping my fingers crossed.

Not exactly wrong, but certainly in need of adjustment.

This checklist will help you find places you may not have examined:

It’s written for Sculpfun lasers, but the parts will be familiar.

Run this test pattern for a quick check of the machine’s mechanical integrity:

GrundTest.lbrn2

Scale it uniformly to fit the platform and run it as fast as the machine will go in Line mode with optimizations turned off and power set to mark a sheet of cardboard.

Upload a photo of the results, because the differences from the design will show what needs attention.

Belt tension on the X axis is hard to check. Just visually. But the y axis is easier. After you adjust the Y belts with power off. Put the Y Axis all the way to the front of the machine .
Then tilt the front of the machine up in the air. The Y axis should slowly drift all the way to the back of the machine. If it doesn’t move the belts are too tight. If it bangs into the back of the machine the belts are too loose. Thats the way i do it

Thank you so much. I will definitely go through everything.

Thank you. That sounds like a great rest. Will try it also.
