Alignment line engraving

I’m going slightly crazy. My Ruida machine worked fine until yesterday. I did a big plate of acrylic and noticed that the line engravings on some parts were off. I started testing today with the image below.

I have added the routing of the laser.
As you can see the 6 and 7 parts are shifted to the right. These are the last steps. Everything else is fine.

I have tried the following:

  • Turn machine off / on
  • Rebooted PC
  • adjusted the accelerations (normal 3000, went down in steps to 1000)
  • lowered the cutting speed (40 to 20)
  • cleaned and lubricated the rails
  • installed latest version of lightburn

None of above made a difference. It’s like the data on that last piece reaches the laser shifted.

I hope someone can help me with this issue.

Thanks!

@oz, can you help me out?

Your laser is skipping, probably because the acceleration or travel speed is too high. It’s pretty common when doing lots of very short rapid line moves in succession because of resonance. Lowering the X axis acceleration or the idle speed may help.

Thanks for the feedback. As it turns out after a lot of testing today, the file was corrupt. And i used this file for a big batch to import in.

It was strange, but recreated a new file with the same products from my illustrator backup, and everything is fine. I go back to the the original file and the deviation is there again.

Very strange but I’m glad it’s fixed now.
