Alignment output problem - cut is moving out of framing

Lightburn 1.2.01 user with X-Tool D1.
I’m trying to cut a circular design, 285mm dia on a piece of ply that is 300mm square, so it fits just nicely. I manually positioned the laser at the top left, and when I run the frame, the red crosshairs stay perfectly inside the workpiece, all the way round. But when I cut, the image has moved about 10mm to the right, and the design ‘fell off’ the right edge, with the laser cutting into my waste bed. I did it twice with the same result. I’m selecting start from current position, the origin is top left, the frame stays in the boundary of the workpiece yet this is the result. What am I doing wrong?

Any help greatly appreciated. I attach the file for reference.

Do you have an pointer offset configured for your device?

Can you take a screenshot of Edit->Device Settings?

Firstly, thank you so much for a quick response. I do not have the offset configured. I just ran a few trial engraves and came to the conclusion that the offset between the red crosshairs and the cutting head itself was the exact amount the cut is off center. How do I find out the values to put in the offset?

Sorry for such basic question.

You should really use the .lbdev file for your laser provided by xTool to setup your laser. It includes some scanning offsets as well.

User Manual for xTool D1 LightBurn Software – xTool

Find the .lbdev file on that page and then create a new device using the .lbdev file. That will include the pointer offset. You can tweak the value if you find that your offset should be slightly different.

OK got it, thank you again. I had no idea I needed to do that. Sorry for such basic question but I really appreciate your help. Problem solved.
