Always: "Waiting for connection..." (again)

I have a “DAVcarveL1” from BeaverLabTech and since I get it I’m struggling to make it work…
Here the specs:
[VER:1.1f.20220325:custom]
[OPT:VNZSL,35,2048,4,12]
[NEWOPT:ENUMS,RT+,HOME,TC,SED,SD,YM]
[FIRMWARE:grblHAL]
[NVS STORAGE:*FLASH]
[DRIVER:STM32F446]
[DRIVER VERSION:220324]
[PLUGIN:SDCARD v1.05]

Since the latest version LB v1.7.01, out of the sudden, i can choose from 2 TTY: /dev/tty.usbserial-14110, /dev/tty.wchusbserial14110.
The first one return “Waiting for connection” and second one return "strange character unreadable. (FHJ
EHŽJ
*
H`J
…)
So what is going on?
I tried: “LaserWeb”, “OpenBuild”, “UGS”, “CutLabX” and they all can connect with “tty.usbserial-14110”…

Any idea how to straighten that up?

Thank you all.

This part of the output seems to suggest a baud rate issue
Could you share your Edit > Device settings please via Screenshot?

First Thank Gil,

Your suspicion was right on, the bit rate was wrong. Can’t be result of the update?

Thank you,

Now I have to resolve why the pen does not go up after each path. Right now there a line trailing between each letter…

I would be immensely surprised if baud rate was 57600
That very low, have you got this value from the manufacturer?

I tried to find documentation but on their website there was zero to read :frowning:

The pen, I am sure it would need a command of sorts to activate the little motor?

Try disabling this.

Try creating new devices by extracting and then importing the following file with 2 (.lbdev) with all definitions.
_DAVcarveL_Device Profile(Lightburn.zip.txt (2.7 KB) (remove .txt).

Hi Parsec

Are these official or your own?

Good afternoon Gil,
Official with 2 devices one for laser and one for pen.

Most likely the baud rate is incorrect. Try changing that to 115,200.

If you’re able to connect in other software, check what the baud rate is set to in those and match that setting in LightBurn.

Do you happen to have a link for their product - I tried the official website but the documentation link takes me to a Picture :expressionless:

For pen > GRBL-M3
For laser > GRBL.

I dug around a bit, inside software folder there is another called Device Profile with 2 profiles.
