Funny, I am doing exactly this here this morning. Use the Offset Shapes Tool, with about a 0.005mm outside offset. Make that outline a new layer so it does not flip your burn/no-burn pattern (Preview window is your most important tool in Lightburn). Also look for little offsets inside your image that you may not want and should remove. Using the Group and Ungroup Tools will be very habdy when doing this.
I use Cut Selected Graphics, then sequence my layers like I want in the Cuts/Layers window. Also set your priorities in the Laser window, Optimization Settings.
