Are there any negatives to going with a 8mp camera on only a 400x410mm work area? I’m about to build an enclosure, so if getting a 8mp let’s me mount lower, that is a bonus. Seeing things in higher resolution on small things can’t be bad. Outside of paying more, what are the negatives?
I’m with you, higher resolution I think is always better! I think the issue is more the field of view and minimum mounting height. I’ve used several cameras and found the camera selection guide in the help section of Lightburn to be most useful. In your case, the 120 degree 8mp N would be best if you want a close up camera or the 120 degree 8mp W if you want a higher camera.
