I’m trying to burn a very large (20x28") image on wood and I keep getting a failure as shown.
80W Omtech
I can drop the DPI down but I really don’t want to.
Thanks

First, I suggest you use Ethernet to the controller, not usb… USB is rather prone to this with some of the low cost cables and electronics that are produced now.
Try using send, rather than start and run it from the machines console.
Send should transfer the complete file to the Ruida, start may cause the job to start executing before the complete file has loaded.
You interval is rather small.
Most co2 have a spot size around 0.20mm, so an interval below that seems questionable to me. Most softer woods don’t allow too high of a definition, due to their nature.
With a spot size of around 0.20mm, an interval of 0.085mm would allow the beam to cover the same area by over two times. Reducing the resolution by 1/2, down to 0.170mm would cut the job time by 1/2.
Just my personal opinion…
And you may want to delete old files from the controller as well before you start the transfer.
Local memory is probably full. Go to file list > delete all files. to clear up memory…I was having this problem constantly until I started using send → as @jkwilborn is saying.
Your DPI number doesn’t mean anything when it comes right down to it as far as the "higher the better " anyways…the best look for my plaques for photos comes out @ 318 LPI on wood on my CO2.
I have one thing only to correct this on my set-up. Either close the LB file in the computer and restart then “SEND” or turn loser off and back on then SEND from computer LB
This video by Laser Everything is a great example of how to pick the best interval for a given job.
Although it’s done on a fiber laser, the procedure works for any laser with any material.
Always wondered what the difference was with send/start. Awesome, thanks!

Yeah I’ve watched this multiple times, the DPI was my fault. Thanks for the reminder
