Hi there. Newbie here, curious as to why my engraving results on a wooden frame are leaving black dots on the text as seen below. I know many factors may determine why this is happening but if anyone can help me narrow it down to improve id be very grateful.
I’ll be active on here all day to answer any questions needed to help. I’m very eager to find a solution. Thank you.
These examples had the following settings, Mode - Line, Spd/Pwr 100.0/ 100. Even at a lower power, these dots were still present. 60 for example.
If I were to hazard a guess it appears to be happening at some of the starts and stops where the line ends and touches the beginning of the engraved line - but not in all cases.
Is the wood raw or coated?
I’ll ask the rest of the team how to proceed with this.
Thanks for your reply. Speed units are set to mm/s. The Constant Power mode is on yes. I’ll have to retest that on Thursday at the machine. Ill get back with the results then if that is the case.
The burning is likely primarily caused by the Constant Power Mode. It’s likely made worse by the speed settings that you have. 100 mm/s is 6000 mm/minute which is extremely fast for a line engraving like this. It’s likely you’re never reaching the full 6000 mm/minute speeds.
I’d suggest disabling Constant Power Mode and dramatically reducing speed by at least 10x to start. This should also help with some of the line quality issues that are apparent in the burn.
