On my menu, I cannot find the ‘apply mask’ facility despite selecting ‘line mode’. I feel it should be under’Convert to Bitmap’. Any help much appreciated thanks.
“Apply mask to image” is under Tools menu. However, you have no image in your design.
I assume you’re better served using Boolean operations, also under Tools. Boolean Assistant makes this visual and easier to understand.

I’m glad I was able to introduce you to the concept. Boolean operations can be incredibly powerful in allowing you to build increasingly complex shapes. It’s central to many advanced vector drawing techniques.
