When dragging a new circle shape onto workarea the aspect lock setting is ignored. I have aspect ratio locked but after placing circle I need to change to unlocked, set width & height to same value then set back to locked.
Since a new object has no set dimension there is no aspect ratio to lock to. The lock only applies to transformations on existing objects.
Holding the shift key down while drawing will maintain a 1:1 aspect ratio.
