I need a fix for alarm 9. I have checked the limit switches - OK. I just cleaned my machine and this problem arose.
ALARM:9
This is the message Iām getting.
āHoming fail. Could not find limit switch within search distance. Defined as 1.5 * max_travel on search and 5 * pulloff on locate phasesā Somebody Please HELP!
Thatās not Atomstack specific. You should check the connections of the limit switches. The laser does not detect them being activated at any time.
I checked the switches by activating them by hand during homing and they both stop travel the same way it does in normal homing.
And when do you get this error then?
Not always, but most of the time.
In an effort to maximize the work area, occasionally people reduce the āpull-off distanceā, the setting under $27, to the point where the engraver canāt back-off enough to deactivate the switch. If pushing the switch with your finger works to stop homing in that direction each time, the Alarm can be caused by this setting.
Additionally, it could be that the engraver canāt reach the switch because itās too far back from the rail.
I think I got it. Would you believe the X axis energy chain carrier was barely touching an air assist hose an this sensitive SOB was being pushed off the limit switch before it was ready? I guess I did a better job of lubricating it, yesterday, than I thought. I ground a notch in the carrier bracket so it is not touching the hose, ran several homings and it is not failing to home now. Thanks for your time Sir.
