Atomstack A70 with R6 Roller attachment Issues setting up

I am attempting to set up R6 Roller to my Atomstack A70Max. So here is the basics, Using Lightburn 2.0.0.5. I choose not to upgrade, and this should affect the rotary. I raised the a70 up, set up the R6 via the directions provided in set up, Change the line 100 to 80 per instructions in the r6, set the mm per rotation to 50 and roller diameter to 16mm. This was what was asked in the software settings for Lightburn in the atomstack R6 set up. I measured and got the diameter and circumference inputted those numbers. I turned machine off and on to verify it modified the firmware which it did. I removed the cable for y axis from machine and connected it to the R6. It registers and finds it. I jog the laser head over manually to where i want it on the cup to test. I do a autofocus. I finish all the rotary set up and i hit test. Now some of the videos I see states that the cup is supposed to go full 360 around and back. But others state its only supposed to go the length of the roller diameters. So play around thinking I have it set right. I do a test letter. When I put the letter (its a test letter) over the cup, and change the to start from, I put current position. Run a frame, and the roller starts to just roll over and over and over, and the laser head jogs to the far right slowly, super slow. So its not right. I keep trying to find what I am doing wrong, so any tips from the experts? or have a good article?

If you have a Chuck rotary, it is 1 rotation of the chuck. If you have a Roller rotary, it is one rotation of the roller. You put the cup on too soon. Check with the Test button again, but without the cup.

From what I read it looks like you are very close to being done.

Rotary - Roller and Chuck confusion.

mm/rev is for setting the rotary so it makes EXACTLY one revolution and back when the Test button is pressed. This helps calibrate the rotary.

Chuck - Circumference is for telling Lightburn to increase or decrease the amount of travel on the surface of the item under the laser.

Roller - Circumference of the part does not matter. Lightburn uses the surface of the roller, which is 1:1 link to the part, to manage how far the surface of the part under the laser moves.

When working with a Rotary, imagine you are drawing on a flat surface, then wrapping that surface around your part. To make the resultant design look better on a curved or tapered surface, there are special Tools for finalizing your design.

This has no effect on calibration. It merely does a rotation and back for a test, to ensure you have the correct values for rotation.

I think I understand, what you’re saying, but there’s noting this does for calibration as far as I know, unless it’s confirmation, please enlighten me if I’m mistaken.

Yes, it should say “calibrate, or adjust for, for the rotary”.
