Anyone familiar with the AtomStack R8 Rotary Chuck?
Feedback would be appreciated, thanks
That limits your options. If you post your issue, it opens up the possibilities of a solution,
I’m considering buying this item and looking for feedback if anyone likes this or has problems.
Did you look at the new Sculpfun rotary?
I couldn’t verify that Sculpfon can connect to my Longer Ray5. I did verify that the Atomstack can.
I like the bed extension for the tailstock on the Atomstack. I’m going to need 10" to 12" working area.
Both have a Multifunctional Support Bracket to extend the workspace.
Yeah, some manufacturers like to deviate what is typical. Other than that, they all use similar stepper motors. I think typically the same as what is on most machines.
I read a few negative reviews about connecting a Sculpfun Rotary to a Longer engraver.
Honestly I couldn’t tell if the problem they were having was the connection from the laser’s control box to the rotary or the connection between the computer keyboard and the computer chair.
The first one can be fixed, the other . . .
Either way, I couldn’t get a definitive answer from Sculpfun.
Technically called the “Seat To Keyboard Interface Error”.
I think they all say something like it is not supported on other manufacturer’s equipment. I bought the xTool RA2 rotary, before Sculpfun was selling theirs, and xTool said it was not compatible with Sculpfun. Maybe they thought I would dump my Sculpfun and buy an xTool laser. Anyhow, it worked perfectly fine. I also bought an ATEZR roller that works perfectly well with all my machines.
I buy from Amazon so I can send it back if it does not work.
AtomStack lists Longer as being compatible with their rotary chuck. I confirmed this via email
