Atomstack rotary moves, gantry moves, laser head doesn’t move. This doesn’t seem correct, please help

I have an Atezr P20 Pro and bought an Atomstack R1 rotary chuck to do tumblers and other round/ cylinder type items. I believe I followed the instructions but now when I try to use the it the rotary spins(seems right), the gantry moves (don’t think that is right) and the laser head doesn’t move (?). I have watched a few videos on YouTube but I can’t seem to figure out what is wrong.

I know you guys will probably need more info but I’m not sure what else to tell you. If you ask I can do my best to answer.

Perhaps the rotary is plugged into the X axis motor driver, rather than the Y axis driver.

That’s what I’m thinking but harness looks to only fit in one place. I will take pictures and them later.

You should be unplugging from the stepper motor. The cable to the Yaxis motor plugs into the rotary motor. If the connectors for the two motors are different, let us know.

So here is a really dumb question, what is motor is the stepper motor? I thought the one I unplugged was the stepper motor.

Only dumb question is the one that not get asked.

They are all stepper motors.

Looks like your connections are correct, EXCEPT as @ednisley suggested. You chose the Xaxis instead of the Yaxis motor. Your first image seems to reinforce this view (pun intended). The Yaxis motor is likely mounted in a horizontal position.

Ok I think I figured out what I did wrong and you guys are correct I had it plugged into the wrong motor. Didn’t realize there were two options. This is my first time doing round items.

Thank you so much for the help
