I’m sure this is just some type of box that is checked or a value that is out of whack. When I try to make a shape, 4 sided in this instance and try to close the shape with the last line, it throws the shape completely out of whack as if I were using an elipse command or something. I will post the before picture outline as I’m about to drop the last point on top of the first one and the second picture is the result.
I don’t understand how. No matter what I do then it does this. My clicks are momentary. I can do this all day long and it’s the same result. This is a glitch, but I feel like it isn’t happening for anyone else… which doesn’t make sense.
What does one do when they encounter such a thing? Is it possible somewhere I’ve checked something that causes this?
I’m running the latest version 1.4.04
I just bought the galvo version in prep for a fiber laser that is coming but I doubt that has anything to do with it.
Would you mind trying to do the same type of shape?
Confirm that the first line is being created as a curve even in 1.4.05.
I definitely single clicked, moved to set its endpoint, then continued to do the three remaining lines without closing the final line to beginning point.
Backed out, went into edit node mode and could see the first line was created as a curve. Curve as first line.lbrn2 (6.0 KB)
May sound like a “ya right” kind of fix.But it happened to me over the last few days.
Try a different mouse.
Mine was double clicking for no known reason. (other than it is old)
Could be worth a shot.
If that were the case of double clicking, wouldn’t we be seeing a second node somewhere near the beginning node? I just did it again and got the same result. Look at this file and zoom into the circle area where the unclosed four line object is at.
Select Edit Node mode and you’ll definitely see the vector adjusting extension present at the first node. Curve as first line v2.lbrn2 (12.3 KB)
I’ve tried this multiple ways across multiple input devices without issue. Even installed 1.4.05 to confirm and don’t have an issue there either.
What are you using for input? Do you have another input device you could try?
Not that I’m aware of. At least not within LightBurn. There may be something at the OS level that affects click timing or sticky clicking. Do you possibility have any accessibility features enabled?
This one is interesting as not only the first line but also the second line are curves. This suggests either a hardware issue or process issue. Are you making very sure to not move while clicking?
I see what you are saying on the curve.
I said “my” mouse was double clicking. Yours may be doing something else like not releasing fast enough.
Cant hurt to try a different one.
You’re saying that it’s the last click where this is occurring and not the first?
I don’t see how that would be the case. LightBurn should show you the filled shape even before you click on the last line…
Curious indeed.
In more testing, if I move very rapidly point to point I can get this to occur but I’m fairly certain that I’m slightly moving during the click. More deliberate movement and clicking eliminates that in my case.
So you are seeing what I am seeing then. It’s not just me, this is a Lightburn glitch.
Are you running galvo version by chance? If so and the other guys are not, that is the issue right there…correct?
