Aufero 1 Ortur stops engraving at high speeds + high power

Hello !
The engraving stops when the laser is set at speeds over 3000mm/min and 30% power.
I have tested different power/speed configurations and it strangely it always stops after 48s or 54s depending on the configuration.
After this time, the laser is still connected in busy status and the timer still runs. After some more seconds, the ventilator stops while the laser is still connected in busy status.

-Laser : Aufero 1 lu2-4 sf laser module.

Aufero 1 S2 Ready!
OLF:OLF 187.
OLH:OLM_ESP_PRO_V1.2.
OLM:GENERAL.

-Lighburn version 1.0.06
-MacBook Pro M1 Monterrey updated
-USB connected through hub - Mac has no USB ports
-This is the first time I try to engrave at these speeds and power.

There is no error message in the console. It just displays :

Starting stream
Stream completed in 0:00
Starting stream
Layer 1750 Pass 1 of 3

I’m new with lasers and lightburn so thanks for helping me out or letting me know what other info is needed to solve this out.
Thanks

Does the machine move or anything?

More of what’s happening would be useful, since I’m not clear on the exact problem.

As I explained above, the laser stops engraving after 48 or 54 seconds of engraving.
Do you need any other information not given in the post ?

Sounds like you have a large data stream. Are you engraving an image? That creates a bunch of data that the controller has to deal with. It’s been know that some can’t take too much data, sounds odd, but there is a limit to how much a grbl controller can handle.

Don’t know if this is an issue or not or how you could change it. Does seem awfully short time for this to occur.

Good luck, hang in there…

I have a different GRBL / G-code machine and mine did this twice.

I plugged an inexpensive exhaust fan into the power bar that I was using for the power supply for the controller. I believe EM noise confused the controller - Twice - and both times the engraver head stopped moving and the laser light went out - without an error message. I plugged the fan into a different outlet and the problem has not come back.

Any spinning motors in and around where you’re working?

Anything else happening at home when it quits with no error message?

It is an image I’m trying to engrave indeed. It is a qr code with a caption, nothing to big either
(5cm^2).

After some more tests I have discovered that I have to use a lower speed and power combination if I want the image to work.

I tried different baud rates and both buffered and synchronous transfer modes, nothing improved. Still the laser stopped after some seconds.

On the other hand, using gcode ( don’t know if this is how you say it) , the laser went full speed full power no problem.

Weird indeed.

Thanks

Not really. There is a SDD hard drive + Macbook some cms away from the laser and that is all.
Concerning the power supply, only the Macbook and the laser are plugged on the power bar.

And nothing special is happening at home either if you are talking about power tools being used, etc…

I’ll test a different configuration and come back to you.

Did you use a memory card instead of the USB cable to engrave the work without error? If so, a heavy shielded USB cable (with Ferrite beads) may solve your issue.

No memory card. Im just using the USB cable that came with the Aufero 1

I think you are confusing us.

That machine runs on gcode or grbl. If you don’t have an SD card how are you differentiating from the one that works and the one that doesn’t?

If there is no sd card, it has to get the gcode from the usb connection, which is serial, the same way it reads it off the sd card.

A lower speed and a lower power would be less current demand on the power supply… Is it sufficient?
