Aufero laser 2 no laser coming out

Aufero Laser 2 with a broken laser module, so I bought a new one: an Ortur LU2-2A.

It came with a new wire, but when I used it, the laser didn’t work. So, I switched back to the original wire that came in the box with the Aufero Laser 2.

It worked with the new laser head for a split second, but then died shortly after. Now, the module lights up green and orange when I start a project, but no laser comes out of the lens anymore.

I have two other disassembled Aufero Laser 2 units, so I thought I could swap parts to pinpoint the problem:

  • Main Control Board: I swapped it with a spare, but it still didn’t work. The laser module lights up, but no beam fires.

  • Main Cable: I thought about replacing the cable from the control board to the steppers/rotors, but unfortunately, a rat chewed through my spare cable for the right motor (the one that moves the gantry up and down).

What else can I do?

Stick with what appears to have the most promise.

It sounds like you have a wiring issue, like the wire cannot carry the current required by the laser module. Get out a continuity checker and start checking that cable from one end to the other.
