Hi everyone…got my first co2 laser yesterday, and just started playing with it. It came with a autofocus installed and configured. But when i try the autofocus funktion, it raises the bed, and stops when touching the autofocus. So far so good…but then it should lower itself to the point you set in the ruida controllpanel, in my case i sat it to 3 mm…but when the bed stops on the way up, it just stays there…i can hear some «electrical» sound in the bacground with the message «searching focus, please wait» in the display, before it stops…no mechanical sound like its trying to force it self up… anyone have any idea?
You can cancel the machines home operation if you wish from the machines console using the esc button/key.
It will have no home position, but you can drive it around by it’s console for servicing.
Check that the controller is seeing the signals on the external leds 5 and/or 6 on the Ruida itself. Don’t know which is which from Z+ and Z-, I’d assume it’s wired correctly One of them should toggle states during a home operation.
Check that the controller is seeing the same Z sensor operation. You can look at them, both from Z/U → Diagnosis from the console. I was testing the X limit switch input, it’s showing active as is the water protection input.
If you get service with this, I’d suggest you notify the vendor, now… it usually is a 24hr turn around time.
Ensure you’re following the operating instructions… operator error is always embarrassing, but it happens to all of us, many times we learn best from failure.
Good luck
