i have wired my exhaust with a Relay to the start stop the fan with the “status-Pin” from the Ruida Controller. But my problem is, that my exhaust need a short time(2-3 seconds) to get its full power.
Is there a way to add a delay in the job, so that the job starts, the “status-Signal” is set and the exhaust have time to get full power and then the laser starts to fire.
Are you getting that much smoke in those 2-3 seconds that this is a significant problem?
I’d be very interested in seeing how this is wired, along with the air assist cutoff. Looking to install both on our laser soon (with the delayed off relay so we can have the exhaust run for 5-10 seconds after the job completes). Is there a thread on here I’m missing somewhere about installing this stuff?
IIRC, cut-through will fire up the Status output as soon as the layer starts. That signal can be used to feed a relay to control the exhaust. There are multiple threads on that. Probably easiest found by searching for “relay”.
Set the cut-through value on the first layer and give it a few seconds to let the fan spin up.
There is no way for us to do this automatically that I’m aware of, though Rick is correct - setting a delay using the Start pause time on a ‘dummy’ layer would work.
I’ve inserted delays before by create a line that runs at 1mm/sec on a layer with the power set to 0.1. Then you make the line as long as you want the delay to be - 5mm would be 5 seconds.
Hm, then i install a momentary pushbutton to activate the exhaust manualy before i press start. The extra layer is something i forget in 9 from 10 jobs .
