I find tabs very useful for holding 0.6mm thick wooden veneer parts in place. I use the automatic tab placement which I then modify. The 6 pages (each a jpg file) shows what to me seems the curious results for automatic tabs for various combinations of the number of sides in an object and the number of tabs requested. I appreciate my views are conditioned by the parts I want to cut but I would be interested in what others think.
