So here are the results from my backlash test, I noticed a few things but I’m unsure how to interpret them.
Given that we don’t know which laser you’re using, it’s hard to be specific, but there’s nothing seriously wrong with the pattern.
The small wiggles on the stems suggest it’s a gantry CO₂ machine:
That’s due to the slight wobble inherent in the heavy laser head suddenly changing direction in the Y axis. There’s not much you can do to fix it, because typical machines cantilever plenty of weight far out on scrawny bent steel brackets.
Unless you have a specific problem with a design, it’s time to Fire The Laser!

What things did you notice?
I would say overall it looks good enough to not mess with anything. I see a litle resonance (squiggly lines), but that may be due to the mechanical design of the machine.
