I am new to Lightburn, so bear with me please. I understand there used to be a “bendy” tool to curve text on the older versions. What happened to it with the newer versions? I am running 1.4.04. I’ve been scouring the net looking for solutions to several issues, but it seems there is not much out there for the newer versions of Lightburn. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi Craig! It’s still there, make sure you’ve exited out of the text tool (press esc) then select the text, and click and drag the little blue dot.
That’s the way I understand it’s supposed to work, but I do not get the blue dots even when I am out of the text tool.
Did you change the text to paths by chance, or is this text imported from other work? The Bendy blue-dot should be displayed for LightBurn generated Text Primitives, or text that has been gen’ed using the text tool and not converted to paths.
No, I did not convert it to a path, and used the text tool to create it. I am wondering if it is because I have not purchased Lightburn yet. I am using the trial version for a few more days.
Trials are fully functional for 30 days.
Yeah, just figured that out. Went ahead and made the purchase. Was going to need it anyway, it’s great software, but a learning curve.
I’m not sure what was going on, I deleted the text, saved the project and restarted Lightburn. There it is! Thanks for the help anyway! Good to know there are people out there willing to help a newbie.
I’ve found it one of the easiest to dive into. Cad part is a little lacking, but trying to use Inkscape to design was to intimidating. Tradeoffs between ease of use and functionality.
Funny thing is that I use ESRI mapping products almost daily with my job. It’s just learning the little functions. That goes with everything I guess. Thanks again!
Welcome to the Lightburn Forum. I also come from GIS world and can reassure you, Lightburn is easier to learn
