Best CNC router compatible with LightBurn for under $1000

I am contemplating buying a new CNC router in the near future. Must be compatible with LB. I don’t wish to spend more than $1000. Do not want a tiny little work area.

Would appreciate any info from someone who has gone this route.

Are you sure you do not mean MillMage? Unless you are going to mount a laser on it, Lightburn is not the best choice.

Compatible? Without knowing what controller it uses, this cannot be determined.

If you are willing to assemble yourself, then check out the Lowrider from V1 Engineering.

You can make any size you like, and It is compatible with MillMage.

On the low end, don’t expect the parts to fly in formation without persuasion:

The spindle had an open-frame DC motor with an internal cooling fan that would suck swarf & dust upward through the motor. It would have had a short and unhappy life if I’d ever used the machine as a router.

Back before they were V1 Engineering, I built an MPCNC that worked out well:

I used it as a large-format plotter, rather than a router, but it was designed for a real router / cutout tool.
