Black screen on alignment

So I got the calibration to run smoothly then went to alignment and the capture screen is black? Any help or ways to troubleshoot would be appreciated.

My first approach would be to improve the lighting on the table.

It might be too dark for the next step.

I installed a led strip all the way around the laser bed. It is very bright and in the pic I think you can see the actual camera pic that showed how bright it is, thank you for the response

Please try the solutions offered in our documentation for a black screen:

I have tried those solutions and feel fairly confident that the camera is showing a real time image when I am looking at it on the camera control pic. And the capture worked great during calibration it is just not showing anything during capture in the alignment setup screen

Before I buy an expensive usb extender for a 2.0 system. Can someone explain to me how I can have a view of the camera realtime see my laser moving and all and the capture function is not working.

Thank you in advance

Also when I calibrated the camera I had to use the circles and not the tags.
The camera won’t recognize the tags but does the circles?

It might be unrelated, but I’m wondering if the high contrast of the LED strip might influence the final result.

The “April Tags” (as far as I understand) only work from version 2.0 onwards. Is that the version you have installed?

I have 2.0. Was told the tags won’t work with how big my laser bed is and how far the camera is from the bed

Ok, maybe. My machine is 400x400mm (theoretically) and it works. Kind of because I have some problems too. But not like yours.

It looks like the circle pattern was too far away from the lens when you were doing the calibration. I found that if I include captures that are too far away and too centralised the image result can be black like this:

So how do you calibrate a camera without moving the target circles closer or moving the camera closer?

Why can’t you move the circles pattern closer? Move it closer to the lens by hand (and make sure the calibration pattern itself is attached to something very flat), refer to : Calibrate Camera Lens - LightBurn Documentation

I’m having the exact same problem. I went to re-calibrate my camera before some critical jobs, the camera is a mintion mounted on the laser.
the image shows perfectly fine in the preview window, and the calibration went ok. If I do the alignment, the capture image is black.
also, although the camera control preview is perfect, if I click on update overlay, the image on the canvas is just white.
I have already calibrated and aligned this camera before, and never had issues.
