One of my lasers is about ten feet away from my computer, I usually place an item in the laser, walk back to the computer, select the design to be burnt and press start, once finished walk back to the laser swap parts, walk back to the computer, select the next design and press start again, a bit tedious, especially when I’m using variable text and the engraving only takes ten seconds or so and I can’t start the next item whilst at the laser.
So I invested £18.00 in a small programmable Bluetooth keypad and programmed the three buttons (two to frame and one to start) now when using the variable text feature I can just stand at the laser, position a product, press start on the keypad and wait for it to finish, position a new piece and press start again for the next piece of text to be engraved.
The frame function is also handy as when I press frame at the computer, the laser has often finished framing by the time I get to it, now I can frame at the laser without having to send the file to the laser first.
