I’m trying to make a layered map and I can’t get the top (cut layer) to weld to the outer box - tried so many things, watched countless videos and I can’t get it. PLEASE HELP. I don’t know how to attach the file for viewing. I’ve grouped the objects so that there are just 2 still not working

Thanks for the reply but I don’t see those options on my posting, I’ll go back into to edit my post and see if that changes…thanks for the speedy reply.
Thanks so much, I did find that. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
You have several open shapes in your center shapes. Boolean only works with closed shapes. After fixing your open shapes I was able to get this result.
Can you tell me how to close the shapes, I actually thought I had done this. Thanks for your time and knowledge
I used a few methods to get there. First, ungroup. Then Edit menu> Auto Join Selected Shapes. That took care of some of them. Next, click Node Editor, click on the perimiter line and look for the green squares and adjust them to connect the lines. See here, the line is not connected. There are 4 disconnected segments here. Zoom in and adjust the green square until it connects with the remaining unselected line. Don’t forget to close the last spot. Click Edit> Select open shapes to identify the other open shapes. Rinse and repeat.
There are also a few random shapes that should be deleted. These green boxes are random line segments that should be deleted.
Thank you so much, i was able to determine there were approximately 900 open areas… wow. But thanks for taking the time to explain how to correct, greatly appreciated.
Glad I could help. I could have uploaded the corrected file, but then you wouldn’t learn anything.
Hi Tim, I really appreciate all your help and I think you’ve explained it very well, but after 2 hours, I think I’m over thinking it. I see the green squares (see pic) but I tried clicking on them and dragging them and it doesn’t work. I’m extremely computer savvy but as I said, I’m probably over thinking this. Any other assistance you can provide is greatly greatly appreciated. Thanks
Hi, I worked at it a little more and was more maticulous and I GOT IT.
Thank you so much for your help and your time with me, can’t thank you enough, sent you through a 100% rating. Thanks
Yay! I’m glad you got it. Yes, sometimes it takes really zooming in and being patient to get the nodes to join. A couple of the segments in your design took a few tries for me to get connected.
