You may have to roll your software version back to 1.0.04
I could not get it to work properly in the latest version 1.1.04

Turn off the ‘Fill all shapes at once’ setting and change it to ‘Fill shapes individually’. That might be the problem - Fill all shapes at once does compositing, and the compositing engine currently doesn’t work with grayscale. I need to actually make the system warn about this.
