I agree, but having looked at their machines for quite a while I noted that the 3X speed is an upgrade from standard server motors to their hybrid servo motors up to 1,500mm/s on their smaller machines. The LS-3655 I have comes standard with the Hybrid server motors (1,500mm/s) but can be upgraded further to their Mach4 servo motors to bring speed up to 2,300mm/s. The way they have it written is confusing. Post 15 was from a different model they offer, the HP-3655 which has the same form factor, but includes a few extra features for cutting metal sheets with oxygen assist but does not offer the Mach4 servo upgrade.
Nothing set yet, but talking with their sales team (who talked to āupper managementā) is trying to arrange for them to send up one of their techs to my house to install the mach4 motors as well as the other related equipment needed to run it, which would hopefully only be a 3 week wait or so. They said at least an 18 week leadtime to build and send a new machine. Iād be okay with this resolution if they can get that arranged so I can use my laser as is for now and be up and running as I should be in a few weeks. It sounds like they need to swap out quite alot of components to get the Mach4 motors to work including pulleys, belts, brackets, motor controllersā¦etc.
Iām with you in that they should do the install as it should have been installed from the start. Sounds like they are working towards this, so at least they sound like they are doing what they can to make it right given the current situation. Iāll post updates as I get them so others can see the experience as well in case they are planning on buying a Boss laser. Iād only seen good reviews and experiences online, but itās unclear how well certain companies utilize a PR team to keep up a good image. Itās possible my bad experience is an outlier, or itās possible they are covering their tracks. Time will tell.
While itās early to say if itās needed, Iād been contemplating buying a second laser but so far my experience with Boss has me hesitant to buy with them again or try another brand. Iāll see how they handle this issue and decide from there.
Now theyāre starting to make sense ā¦
