We are currently on the 2nd laser supply replacement in out Omtech. In both instances, the laser worked for 1 cut and then quit working. Since this has happened to the last 2 power supplies, I have no clue what the issue is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
We’ve seen a couple of instances where OMTech has sent DOA power supplies over the last few months, so perhaps they’re working through a shipping container of QC reject hardware from one of their suppliers. Of course, OMTech is not tracking such things, so the fact that you got two duds in a row doesn’t raise a red flag to them.
They might go for a third supply before sending you a new tube Because Why Not.
Although AFAICT all HV power supplies are identical inside the case, it may be worthwhile to buy one from a different (and reputable, not a rando Amazon / eBay) seller to see if shaking the dice brings up a better combination.
Which is not what you wanted to hear, but …
