Brass colour engraving

Hi! so, we have a MOPA JPT 60w m7 and we are trying to get colours on brass. But all of them get grey or do nothing on the metal, furthermore we tried a bunch of settings we got on internet or YouTube, but nothing works, including videos talking about brass.
Also, do you have some kind of information about what the parameters on the software works for and what it were supposed to do when colour marking? like the Q pulse or Frequency.

I used to spend a very large portion of my day heating brass from room temp to very nearly it’s melting point, both in air and in a shield gas envelope and can’t say I ever witnessed a color other than a shade of rusty brown.

Stainless and titanium oxidize/temper in pretty colors. High carbon steel to a lesser degree. Not sure about mild steels. I can’t say I ever noticed any worthwhile coloring on aluminum or brass. Copper, yes, a little; if you’re really careful you get some reds and blues.

Not that it isn’t possible with brass. I was mostly focused on brazing temperatures and passed thru color phases very fast, so I may well have missed something.

ok… thank you for being realistic! we will try to contact some people that made videos about colour engraving on brass, but after reading what you said we thought about it and I don’t really know but, im afraid it was SS or inox in a brass colours
i will put the link of the videos we saw under
