Description:
It is possible to get sub-layers into a state where there is only one and it is disabled.
Re-enabling this layer is counterintuitive.
LightBurn Version: 1.2.01
Reproduction Steps:
- Create New File
- Add an shape to it
- Open the layer settings
- Add a sub-layer
- Go to the first sub-layer and disable it
- Go back to the second sub-layer and remove it
- The first sub-layer is now disabled and you are unable to re-enable to
The file can be saved in this state and from my testing it appears that the disabled sub-layer persists.
Depending on how you have LightBurn reconfigured, restarting it or creating a new file may not resolve the issue.
To re-enable the sub-layer you can add a second sub-layer, go back to the first sub-layer, enable it, then remove the second sub-layer.
Expected Behavior:
There are a couple of ways this could behave.
-
When removing a sub-layer so that there is only one left, the remaining sub-layer should be enabled.
If that sub-layer was previously disabled, then the layer itself could potentially be disabled. -
When only one sub-layer exists, it remains possible to enable it, but it is only possible to disable the layer (not sub-layer).
-
It becomes possible to disable or enable any sub-layer at any time (i.e. when there is only one), and the output indicator is changed so that it indicates if any (or all) sub-layers have their output disabled.
