Burning an image behind an image

I am trying to create a gift for my mother-in-law. I am trying to burn a peace sign image on a 4-inch coaster with an image behind it. i can’t figure out how to burn the background layer within the parameters of the peace sign, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just a solid peace sign? If so, sounds like an image mask or two is what you need.

I would like the peace sign to not be filled, and the image behind it to be filled. I hope that makes sense.

Makes total sense. Go thru that entire article. Should get you there. The peace sign will need to be a line layer, not an image. Either draw it from scratch or trace a pic of one if you currently have two images.

Thank you, Chris, I will give it a shot.

Ok, the problem I am having is that when I mask, the image is being included within the peace sign, not into the background.

Draw a big square on the same layer as the peace sign.

To help understand the logic, If you change the line layer to fill, anything black(filled) will be the area that lets the image show thru.

Thank you, Chris, that did the trick.

I am a fairly new user to light burn. Thank you for your assistance.

No problem!
