Not a new user but having issues. Just got a second xtool d1 pro and set it up in lightburn using the dev file downloaded from xtool and all my origins are correct.I use user origin and I set up a test square for my first cut and it framed perfectly but when I started to cut it, the laser moved from the top left orgin of the material to the top right of the origin material and the cut backwards moving to the left. All my origins are set to top left. Any ideWaiting for connection…

okas?
it matches what is in preview, but it is completely reverse of my other d1. My other d1 cuts this square clockwise. This new one cuts the same square counterclockwise. Both machines are set up the same way.
Are both connected to the same computer and same installation of LightBurn? As-in you can change only the device in LightBurn and you get different behavior?
I’m not following. Can you explain in more detail what you’ve changed? How many computers, LightBurn installations, and device configurations are in play?
What do you mean by grbl setting here? And which machine are you referring to?
Ive already had a d1 20w and it was setup and working through lightburn. I just got another 20w d1 and added this machine to lightburn by importing the dev file from xtool. This new tool with the settings from xtool makes it cut in reverse. I deleted the other grbl settings because i thought they may be conflicting with this one.
Are you absolutely certain that the behavior is different between the two lasers? I suspect this is more about the design and potential Optimization Settings.
Framing direction and cutting direction are not necessarily the same.
If you flip the rectangle using Ctrl-Shift-H or Ctrl-Shift-V do you get the cutting to occur in the opposite direction?
If so, seems to me this is working as expected and is following the cut path as directed via Optimization Settings and the path direction visible using Shape Start Point tool.
I am 100% certain that my other laser cuts clockwise. I tried ctrl-shift-H and it cut clockwise but it moved the start of the cut from the upper left to the lower right.
I don’t mean to be obtuse but want to make sure there’s absolutely no question about the behavior as this is important to understand root cause. You are saying that with 2 of the same laser, if you connect one of the machines, run the exact same job, it cuts clockwise. Then, doing nothing other than connecting the other machine, running the exact same job, it will cut counter-clockwise?
If you haven’t directly tested this since getting the new laser, please do so.
This is determined based on the Start Point of the shape. You can see this if you select the object and then pick the “Set Start Point” tool. If you are working with a shape primitive you will need to convert the shape first to a path in order to see the start point and nodes.
I have not tested both machines like that and can’t now as I’ve deleted my grbl settings from Lightburn for the other machine. I know that i ran a job on my old d1 just prior to adding this new one and it cut correctly clockwise. what i dont understand about this is why the laser moves from the start position (upper left) to the upper right and then starts cutting backwards from that location.
It doesnt really. I guess i dont except change that well lol. What does bother me is that it moves from the start point to the right side before it starts cutting. I cant figure that out.,
